1st RRAW in Action!

Air Force reservists undergoing Unit Active Duty Training (UADT) practice tying their own rescue harness as members of the 505th Search and Rescue Group PAF train them on search and rescue and life-saving techniques. Search and rescue is one of the missions of the Philippine Air Force reserve component, and the 1st Ready Reserve Air Wing makes sure it trains its members on an annual basis on these skills, for the unit to be able to respond to emergencies and calamities within the NCR, Central and Northern Luzon areas.

Training the force is essential to the Air Force reserve. Annual ADT or Active Duty Training courses are given by the Air Reserve Command to all reserve units, to keep them fit and ready to respond in case of mobilization. Training is conducted by Air Reserve Centers located in strategic air bases all over the country. Photo at right shows Unit ADT trainees during reception day.
